Our Legacy
Founded in 1952 by Mrs. Katherine Rosalind Sanwal, the school began as 'Mighty Atoms Preparatory School' with a mission to provide affordable English-medium education to the hill communities of Nainital. Supported by Mrs. Angelina Grace Sanwal, the institution grew from a handful of students into a vibrant campus, officially renaming to Sanwal School in 1971 to honor its founders' legacy.
A major milestone was reached in the early 2000s with CBSE affiliation, followed by an upgrade to Senior Secondary status in 2021. Today, we proudly offer Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams, preparing students for professional careers through a curriculum that balances rigorous academics with national standards.
Beyond the classroom, Sanwal School has built a reputation for excellence in sports—from cricket and basketball to niche disciplines like yachting and golf. This holistic approach nurtures intellect and character alike, ensuring our students remain grounded in values while reaching for 21st-century heights.
